Great job Andy K!

The play calling was superb. Andy tailored the calls to what Jalon D. can do. It took 57 points to beat UT and Andy got it done for us. The two point conversion was golden as we had secondary receivers to go to.

Jalon D's play on the two point conversion had his full talent on display and boy the kid kept a cool head and pulled it off.

A Few Thoughts

I rewatched the game this morning and I couldn’t help, but notice a few things.

1. How about the work this staff has done in a short period of time to develop this offensive line? Fuchs has done a tremendous job with a disaster he was left to work with. The line didn’t always get the best push last night, but coming from a team that was getting shoved around by South Dakota in week 1 to getting the best of 4-5* kids in the trenches, is absolutely amazing.

2. Two very important calls that were vital (and to be quite honest, we got very lucky) I feel are being overlooked.

A. The unsportsmanlike in OT was rather mild and I’m not sure I would’ve thrown a flag. I don’t know what the exact ruling is on celebrations, but I felt like in moment you easily could’ve let that one slide. 10 yards closer in OT is HUGE.

B. There very easily could’ve been a holding call on the two point conversion. If Cabeldue had held on a split second more, I’m not sure there’s a way a flag isn’t thrown and we get forced into a 2nd OT after the PAT.

3. The defense is bad, but the TO margin was nice to see for a change. The DB’s had a few good jumps and reads on balls. Very easily could’ve had two more Ints. It was also nice to see consistent pass pressure off the edge.

4. Resiliency Is something we haven’t seen in quite awhile. Even guys on the game thread were tossing in the hat late in the 4th. This team kept coming back for more, even after two 14 point efforts from UT. They were calm and collected. You could see in JD’s eyes he was as cool as a cucumber. Love the effort, passion and fight this staff entrenched in these players. In the past, we would’ve curled up in the fetal position. (I.E. - the drop by Lassiter early in the game on 2nd & long felt like a moment the wheels would generally start to fall off. They struck the very next play on 3rd & long for a 1st)

Happy for this team and staff. Well deserved. Hell, I may watch the game a third time.

Injuries

So Fairchild and Sampson both got knocked out of the game and didn't come back. Also I believe Malik Clark was injured but maybe came back in. Gilbertson was filling in. Did we lose anyone else last night?

Liepold said Spencer Roe was lost for the season with a practice injury.

Looks like J. Robinson has never got back on the field after his injury a few games back. Good to see DeBose and Parker playing better.

Anyone know the status of Will Huggins? What the heck happened to him?

Orangebloods/Geoff Ketchum's Postgame Reaction Thread

Many are wondering about his thoughts; here you go. I'll post some more reactions later this afternoon, if desired.

"One guy showed up and turned water into wine and the other guy showed up this season turned wine, even a cheap version of it like some booze or I don't know, but turned it into something that feels very much like poison. And it's gonna take awhile until Humpty Dumpty gets put back together again."

So......

when does the news break of the firing of Sarkisian(sarcasm heavily intended)? I love it that Herman wasn't doing well enough for them and now they are probably not going to make a low-tier bowl unless they overachieve over the last two games. I'm sure they are at their wits end. It's nice for other fan bases to have to go through what we have over the last 12 years and especially an overly entitled one like Texas.
