It was a free-for-all with 3 guys just coming for the ball and trying to get open. Two options were needed. Simple stuff. Put 1 guy each on the corners of the FT line. Have 1 guy come across and screen for the other. The screener is the one that will be open, because he is rolling to the basket. Boom, quick pass. The other option is having all 5 guys spread across the baseline and then all sprint to get open. Some go deep, others short. We’ve run that before and it works.

But this team just doesn't have championship DNA it would seem. Never seen a team blow it at the end twice! Should have won in regulation and should have won in OT but we just don't have what it takes this year to compete at the level necessary to make it to the FF.

They look like a sweet 16 ceiling team to me and I've seen enough now to feel pretty confident in saying this team just isn't going to be what we hoped going into the season. It's disappointing, but it is what it is. I'm not down on the team because all they can do is play their best which I believe they did today, so as long as they play with max effort I'll be a fan of this team, like I am every year but my expectations are sweet 16 at best.
