Explain to me again....

why certain posters on this board think that Ben Easters should enter the portal? I guess I don't understand why? I saw a post earlier by a long time member of the site that basically suggested he should go and enter the portal...the young man has been in the system one year and will be a redshirt freshman next year. We haven't a clue what type of QB he will develop into. This team needs all the capable players it can get; especially at QB. If there are habits that need to be reshaped the coaching staff can correct those. The assumption that the young man is not any good based off second hand information about a couple of practices where he struggled and because of that he should just pack up and enter the portal is just plain I don't want to say stupid but that is the only way to describe it.

One Proud Homie

So, I'm shopping the other day in Portland in the checkout line in Bestbuy. A guy approaches and says , "what they serve Jayhawks here?" as I'm wearing a Jayhawk Tshirt and cap. Naturally I say, the only people they don't serve are Tigers, taking a stab. He says, wildcat here. So we talked football, pheasant hunting, growing up in rural America. Another lady pipes up that her husband is from Kansas and they go back for hunting everry year. So, I'm talking about about what it means to grow up in Kansas and I had the ears of a dozen people listening and nodding. I count myself blessed to have grown up in Kansas. In an area of civil unrest for the last year and then some there are many who feel trapped in the city. I have a public policy background. I'm sure the late Bob Dole would agree the new urbanism is destroying the best of America. When you have to leave Mulvane, Larned, Oswego, Norton, Smith Center to make a living in "the city" you have left a bit of your soul behind. Yeah, I may be Opie but I'm dam proud of it.
