Trump's Economy

Bond yields on Gov't bonds are increasing in response to the Trump victory. This is pushing mortgage rates higher despite the Fed announcing a 25 bps rate cut today. Mortgage rates typically follow interest rates the Fed sets but it really tracks the bond yields. Those are increasing because Trump is expected to blindly slap tariffs everywhere which is inflationary. The cost gets passed to the consumer.

Wall Street is essentially pricing inflation increase due to a result of Trump's expected direct policy and actions. As a result, mortgage rates are increasing which in itself isn't good for people wanting to refinance to save money, or for homebuyers, builders and construction either.

If these tariffs are blindly applied everywhere, I would expect to see massive price hikes in food imported from Mexico, like avocados, tomatoes cauliflower & broccoli, onions, beans, pineapple, carrots, asparagus, garlic and much more.

Then there's the manufactured consumer grade crap form China, all of that will skyrocket in price. Even the "Made in the USA" stuff will go way up, because they use get the parts from China or process raw materials there.

The tariffs are speculatory because nothing has changed. But the mortgage rates are absolutely rising to highs right now.

2nd Half Offense - Brutal Stats

I know we're all riding high after the win over BYU, but once again, we had the ball and the lead in the 2nd half.... In those 2 drives, we punted and threw an interception. That's pretty much been the theme all year..... we've had chances to put teams away.... or at the very least extend our lead. So, I did the math on all the drives meeting that same criteria.

Kansas has had 27 drives in the Second Half where they had the ball and the lead. Out of those 27 drives, there have been:

16 Punts
11 Three-and-Outs or a Turnover in less than 3 plays
4 Turnovers
4 Touchdowns
2 Missed Field Goals
1 Field Goal
31 Points

Massaging the stats a little bit by removing the Houston Game, we have 23 drives with the ball and the lead in the 2nd half. On those drives, there have been:

16 Punts
10 Three-and-Outs or a Turnover in less than 3 plays
4 Turnovers
2 Touchdowns
1 Missed Field Goal
14 Points

Anyways.... do with that information as you will

Off Topic Pandas Deserve To Die

Was watching some more Planet Earth the other day and they got to talking about pandas. Those fat tubs of shit only eat bamboo despite it having no nutritional value, they stay too high in the mountains in the winter because they only eat bamboo, and the stupid fvckers don't even know how to log the cabin if ya know what I mean. Why are we trying to save these mouthbreathers? Evolution says pandas are stupid pieces of shit and we should turn them into coats.

Looking for Furman Tickets

We moved away from the Lawrence area 6 years ago and we will be back in town for the game. I want to take my son to his first game that he will remember. We will need 3 tickets. I could possibly neee a 4th, if it makes it easier to sell. Thought I would ask if anyone is selling here before I get something off of tickets for less or another site.

Thanks in advance.

Recruiting Update Larry Porter IV talks about his offer to KU after a big senior season

Porter leads the state of Missouri in receiving yards and is second in receptions. The KU coaches have been tracking him all season and Leon Douglas played a big role.

Recruiting Update What does Bill Self think about KU’s three-man recruiting class?

Last week, Kansas wrapped up its 2025 high school recruiting class by signing Darryn Peterson, Bryson Tiller, and Samis Calderon.

Self, while talking to the media, said Kansas signed three pros and added that the staff likely won’t sign another high school prospect.

Kansas, without question, signed one of the top recruiting classes in 2025 and will bring in three guys that will absolutely impact the program eerily on.

Obviously, it all starts with Darryn Peterson.

“This is one of the best recruiting moments that Kansas basketball has had in decades,” Self said “Darryn is an all-around guard that scores at all levels and is also a terrific facilitator and defender. He has been well drilled and has a toughness about him being raised in a family where his brother is a successful football player at Wisconsin.

“Darryn was as important as any recruit we have recruited in recent memory. Coach (Kurtis) Townsend did a great job as the lead recruiter. Darryn can be a catalyst to also draw other players to our program.”

"We are excited about Bryson," said Self. "We feel like he's a top 10 player in this class that hasn't had a chance to play the last six months with an ankle injury. His upside is undeniable, and he's been well-trained. Bryson provides a versatility for us that he can play some five, but he can also play the four, very similar to the way KJ (Adams) has in his career.

"This was another good get for us," Self continued. "KT (Kurtis Townsend) was the point man on Bryson and he has been recruiting him going back to Bryson's sophomore year."

“Samis is a guy we have been very excited about the last several months,” Self said. “He has great size at 6-foot-8 and he can play multiple positions on the perimeter. Samis has a really nice shooting touch that can stretch the defense.

“Samis has been trained well at OTE that should make the transition into major college basketball somewhat seamless,” Self continued. “Coach (Kurtis) Townsend has done a terrific job on recruiting Samis. We feel his best ball is ahead of him.”
