Recruiting Update Recruiting Scoop, Fri. Dec. 3

There are two expected visitors and that could change for the weekend. With the portal you can throw out the typical Fri-Sun visits and I think you will see visits scattered out everywhere whenever a recruit can make it in.

Hassan Hall who was a running back and return specialist for Louisville will make the trip. Hall is an explosive back who would probably be the fastest back in the backfield.

Jonathan Wallace has been on him for a few weeks. This week Leipold also flew out to meet with him along with OC Andy Kotelnicki.

This one will take some time to see what he is going to do. Sources have told me he is expected to visit Purdue and Missouri and there are others coming in on him. From what I hear Missouri has made a strong push at him. They lose Badie this year who set school records and led the SEC.

Eriq Gilyard a transfer LB from Central Florida is visiting. Gilyard as mentioned before on the board was one of the top LBs over the last couple years at UCF.

KU has been on him for him a while led by Chris Simpson and Rob Ianello. There are more schools trying to get him to visit but he doesn't have anything set up after the KU trip.

Scott Fuchs was at Piper High today visiting with the head coach about Camden Beebe. He extended an invite to next week's basketball game vs Missouri. The word I get is there is a select few 2023 prospects who have been invited to visit next week.

Tonight Zebrowski and Schoonover will be at the Kapaun-Maize basketball game to watch Avery Johnson and Will Anciaux.

I still think there could be more news later in the weekend so I will keep everyone posted what I hear.

Football Players' DNA

By now, you've probably heard about the nut job who killed several kids in Michigan. It may not come as a surprise at all to this board that Tate Myre, a starter on the football team, died attempting to stop the rampage. They are petitioning to rename the football field after him. Kind of goes to show the world needs brave people in it. Ball players generally fit the bill.

X-Factor

Is Yesufu. I think this team ends up being very good regardless. The rotation needs to be working out and Remy Martin is learning how to take over this offense.

I think we can reasonably expect improvement from McCormack and Wilson. David may taking longer. 2 months from now I imagine we can reasonably expect good play and consistency from Martin, Braun, Ochai, Wilson and McCormack. That is a starting 5 right there but I would like to see a little more bounce and quickness otherwise it is last year but substituting Martin for Garrett which does make a big difference. However to take the next step I think we need athleticism and scoring from Yesufu. He’s the only one who I think can reasonably score at this level right now and provide the defense, quickness and athleticism we need.

Pettiford is a perfect sub for the time being and has a great career ahead of him. Harris does things well but he also hinders the offense as well.

We need Yesufu to reach his potential for this team to be elite, IMO

he has all the ability and hopefully self gives him the minutes to get it going. Genuinely believe if he played 20+ minutes now he would a huge impact player for us when it matters.

Harris is at his ceiling. Yesufu could make a Chalmers like impact.

McDonald's Nuggets: Prospects who'll outplay rankings in college

Bill Self and his staff at Kansas do as good of a job as any in the country with post players. Ernest Udeh will be next on that list. He’s always getting better as it is, but with the tutelage of a great staff, it’ll only expedite his growth. He’s another prospect I think has an NBA future. —
