This is when players

start having a harder time turning down invites to the hawk, being focused at practice, worrying about team goals over individual goals.

It’s all downhill from here. This was a must win.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending how you look at it, they’ve all played 5 games instead of 4. They have no where to go. Stuck ending their career with a loser. Different players will have different views of how they want to spend their last few months in college.

Medicare for all

As I look at the proposals for "Medicare For All" I see the wording "for Residents". "Residents" suggests "legals". My questions for those of you on the left are 1. Do you agree with this restriction or not and 2. Do you want the program to utilize the present healthcare system of the choices we now have?

There is also a suggested plan that would offer a medicare type offering through the ACA. As someone on medicare this seems to be the most feasible solution. While there are costs it would solidify and strengthen the ACA, while should be something that could and should be bi-partisan. It would have costs that the far left would balk at, but would provide a lot of options.

Open letter to Travis Goff and lance

Sad. Not like when you strike out with a hot girl sad, but when her fat ugly friend doesn’t even want to go home with you. That’s how I describe this season and the state of ku football at the moment.

All offseason we were pumped with happy thoughts and demands for more money for a stadium + NIL. It was the turn around of all of college football and we were promised this season we would even be mentioned in the CFP race.

That was all a lie.

Our coach wouldn’t even come out and say he was committed to our program but we all had to be committed fiscally. Our coach let our best asset go and thought jeff grimes would be his replacement. Our coach was so off with Jalon Daniels he thought he could practice only in the fall and be ready to go.

That was all wrong.

The season started and things looked good. Then we played a program that had existed since 2022 and we lost, and lost the next week, and lost the week after, and lost again this week. Not only was this the biggest disappointment of ku football ever, this is the biggest disappointment of Kansas sports ever.

You forgot how to coach.

You demand we show up, you demand we donate to NIL, you demand we pay for the stadium - I ask, what’s in it for us? More heart break and disappointment?

When does basketball season start anyway?

Going Forward

I have to think the plan was this:

Bring back all of these guys who helped win 9 games and win big and use that as the platform to recruit some big portal names for next season.

Obviously that plan has now been crushed like my soul.

So, now that the negative recruiting will easily be "Kotelnecki was Leipold" and it will be nearly impossible to counter that at 1 and 11....

Rat Poison

Saban talks about not eating the rat poison, getting caught up in media hype, reading the press clippings, losing focus on what it took to be successful.

It appears this team ate the rat poison before the season started. Heisman candidates, ranked, picked to win conference, picked for CFP. They forget they have to actually go out and do all the little things that lead to wins.

Coaching staff let them forget, and may have eaten a little rat poison themselves.

We lost the blue collar work ethic.

I always wanted a grind it out, outwork-your-opponent in the offseason, be tougher during the game, and play with an edge football team.

Only Mangino brought that attitude in my lifetime until Lance showed up. I was convinced this would be our identity day-in and day-out.

Perhaps we just lost our way and this season is resetting who we need to be. I just don’t see it with this bunch. Sure, I do believe we have those guys but I don’t think we have a team of those guys anymore.

It feels like we lost some key coaches and key players and the team of this year thought they were the team of last year. Feels like “you reap what you sow”.

I’m still going to the rest of the “home” games. I’ll still keep buying season tickets, but it definitely feels like we’ve been served up a heap of humble pie.
