I defend and criticize it, same way I defend and criticize the two dozen or so forms of socialism, and varying degrees of communism.

    Now answer the question:

True or False: A large corporation that took in $13B in profits last year and paid $0 in taxes was offered capital grants in the range of $250 - $500MM?

For the record, you just called buying a home, working in government, and inheriting a home "defending capitalism." It's obvious that not only do you struggle to grasp the basic tenets of socialism, but you also suffer to understand capitalism (i.e., your holy grail).

jt thinks he knows AOC's base more than she does, he also thinks he knows more about the Amazon deal than she does. He also will point at anyone living on the grid as a defender of the social and economic system they were born into despite their criticisms of it.

Oh, to be in a binary world. Ignorance is bliss.

The only difference between jt and Brad is one wakes up and parades around with Mein Kampf raised above their head, while the other parades around with any given Ayn Rand book raised above.

He refers to "capitalism" -- whatever that encompasses at any given moment -- the way a child talks about their daddy. It's weird and a little cultish.

Not a job Little guy. It’s where some go when they can’t make it in the real world.

You need to stop watching CNN, ABC, MSNBC, etc. They have lied to you since your youth and your gullible mind has lapped it up like a puppy. Listen to Lara Logan. No reason for her to lie. View the videos of Bernie in the 80’s. Videos don’t lie.

Your side is delusional and corrupt. You destroy people and countries with your ridiculous ideas. You, as a poster, are a snarky jackass. Use your intelligence to truly understand how wrong you are.

Bernie loves Communism! The people aren’t free, but the subways have chandeliers.

Side note: I was there in ‘88 too as a 14 year old on a political exchange thru Congress. It’s hard to believe he left with any other impression other than to treasure the freedom we all enjoy in America. What a shameful buffoon.

A friend of mine went there about 1987. He said Russia was a third world country outside of Moscow and Leningrad. That economic system was a disaster unless you had good connections to favored upper gov ops people. Bernie is finding out what front runner means - every lifetime activity and utterance will be micro scrutinized.

The Bernie and AOC lovers are quiet. Deep down they know those two are kooks.

Support for them is simply about a protest vote. Even they must know the slippery slope...

Your argument is “Bernie was wrong about something in 1987, therefore he has zero credibility in 2019.” Do we need to explain why that’s not an argument that needs debunking?

And per routine, you’re once again simply repeating what every right-wing propaganda site is bleating about today.

Meanwhile, you’ve been wrong about multiple things in just the last few days, including trying to pass off 30-plus-year-old supply-side garbage in 2019. What should we think about your credibility?

Also, I’m still waiting for the answer to my question(s) from the Amazon thread. Seems like ignoring inconvenient questions is a habit for you.

Your argument is that Bernie didn’t mean what he said as an adult?

That wasn't my argument at all, and there is no reasonable way to discern that from what I wrote.

Again, if you just want to beat up on strawmen, have at it. But don't pretend your strawmen are the actual people here trying to discuss things with you.

Your point was literally that it doesn’t matter what he said in his past. That’s a terrible argument. How else are we supposed to know what candidates believe?

That also wasn’t my point. How are you so bad at this? Why are you incapable of engaging others in good faith?

This is one of the most inane replies I have seen on this board. You know nothing about me, yet you assume and castigate. I have lived a lot of history and have seen how things work on the world stage. I only watch about 1 hour of FNC a day. I do watch more of the Fox Business Channel. I am very pro "Constitution". I think it is a great document and one that has evolved over time. First of all, quit confusing socialism and capitalism. Socialism is a form of government and capitalism is economic. The Constitution is full of checks and balances. That is why we continue to advance even though there are ups and downs, peaks and valleys. My generation has earned what we have, and have paid dearly for those benefits. If you can only reply and discuss via insults and lack of actual knowledge you add nothing to this board.

Please! You don’t engage anyone in good faith fool. You are the most condescending little man on this site. I’ve never seen someone so sure he’s right on every subject, when he is so damn wrong. You and your mindset is what’s crippling advancement in this country. Your side of the aisle is poisoning almost everything they touch.

Went to the Bernie rally in Chicago. It overflowed capacity. Two massive rallies in two days. He is far and wide the front runner.

I'm not an anti-capitalist. I just call out late stage capitalism and greed.

Unlike many others I am capable of defending and calling out the same things instead of blindly defending something regardless.

Festival Hall is normally split into 2 halls that each holds hundreds and hundreds of 10x10 booths.

At the rally last night people were chanting his name and he shook it off until people started chanting "Not me, Us!" (a familiar campaign slogan)

That all happened in 2016 when Hillary hired opposition research. That shirtless video of him drinking and singing in Russia just humanized him more and made him more endearing to his supporters.

If you're expecting a smoking gun you're going to be disappointed.

We're all wrong at some point and I'll argue floyd is more correct than not, but regardless he doesn't come in here and start hurling insults around like you do.

Seriously, the moment you decide to drop in when it's convenient, myself and others don't even bother to pay as much attention anymore because its the same thing.

At least others try to put together and attempt a remotely compelling argument before they go off the rails.

Nothing I said was anti Bernie. It merely stated that as a front runner, he will be micro analyzed. So get off your high horse.

    Lighten up, Francis.

Didn't say/accuse you doing so and I never was on a horse. People are free to criticize him, I encourage it. They're often wrong but I'm always up for discussion/debate.

Was just saying in general that he been under the microscope since late summer of 2015 when he exploded on the scene and started turning out tens of thousands in rallies all over.

I wish more Ds had stood up like this. Instead they bought into the GOP subterfuge and ate it hook line and sinker. Massive props to Bernie and others who drew this distinction and defended Omar.

And before anyone says, "you wouldn't defend the GOP if it was similar", I actually would if it were a statement similar to this, the party didn't consistently and repeatedly cross the same racist and bigoted lines, and the speaker actually apologized like Omar did.

Instead you get people on the GOP's side repeatedly saying racist things, complaining and mocking those who say it's racist, then implementing policies that support the racist statements.

Bernie was quick to say this and then Harris and Warren had their own versions. I don't think either would have without anyone saying it first.

I'm a secular Jew. I have long since known the difference between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism. The ruling party in Israel is a violent, more crazy version of the Tea Party. Israel participates in Apartheid.

They murder Palestinians. Kick in 6 year old girls teeth. They've sniped about 600 citizens well behind the forbidden zones behind the wall.

Yet if you call them out on any of it, it's anti-semitic and you hate the Jews. In reality their lobby spends something like $20m a year to wine and dine congress, Ds and Rs alike.

So you have Rep. Omar puttng this bullshit to the forefront and she gets called out by her own party, who benefit$ from the lobby and they don't even put Republicans Scalise (literally spoke to a white power group) and King (is white nationalist and says white nationalist things) to censure.

My laugh for the day. Thanks for thinking of me. There is not much he espouses that I agree with. I have two main reasons: first of all why make such drastic changes instead of fixing what we have. Example 1. Why did college costs grow so rapidly and are they giving the right education. 2. Why are drug costs so high and why can't we make improvements. Then comes the biggest question of all: why in the hell would we turn such a large task over to the same group with the same rules that has screwed up a good system to begin with?

Bernie gives fun feeling statements and bullet points, but cannot give long range results of his massive changes. Plus there is nothing in his entire life that shows he could be any type of capable POTUS. It is really time for this country to elect a POTUS from either party that can work with congress. Clinton had his warts on the personal side, but he was the last POTUS to really work with congress and that was during his second term. While it is true that congress has the responsibility of oversight, but that is far from the only or main thing they are responsible for. Congress is not winning the tit for tat war and never will, but all of the citizens are losing it.
