I have to confess

how much I really hate these KSU bastards and want to see us dogwalk their asses through the dirt and back again. I try to be levelheaded and cool about sports and all that, and I would be face to face, but we are in a safe space here so I can openly say that if we ruin their season I am going to really enjoy watching their fans lose their minds and lash out at KU and generally act like exactly who they are. It is irrational and based entirely on the way that they act towards KU fans, and it is very real deep inside me. Beating them would cleanse my soul.

The ways this program finds to lose games....

is dumbfounding......If I had known how much Lew Perkins sold all our souls to the devil for the Orange Bowl.....I want it all back.....I'm convinced KU football can never have good things ever again.....this is so exhausting.....I've supported this program for 40 years and sat through so much sh!t....and to continually suffer soul crushing after soul crushing defeat.....ugh...

Trying to talk myself into putting all this into perspective

We are so, so much better as a program than we were prior to Lance. With that being said, it’s just been so incredibly frustrating to be in a position to win every single game thjs year and this team just doesn’t have what it takes to nut up and win the game. Its just such a love/hate relationship with JD.. he’s so damn good at times and it’s just inexplicable how he crumbles and just can’t find a way to be a closer, The guy we saw with balls of steel to be beat Texas on the road a couple years ago just doesn’t seem to be there anymore.

These losses hurt so much more when you could win, should win, and just continuously don’t.

Watching this team reminds me of the Chiefs

Watching the Chiefs play when the game is tight, I know Spags is going to cook up a defensive drive that makes the OC of the other team look foolish.Well KU is the other team this year and I can always trust our OC to look foolish when it counts.

Just a few examples...KSU timed the blitz all game, and KU played right into it. Hail Mary flea flicker? Shotgun run in the end zone right into their blitz? No WR/TE routes attacking blitzed area on the final drive?

8/10 called game this week, but I'd be dammed, foolish when it counts.

Having the ball and the lead should be a postive thing

When you are winning the game and have possession of the ball, you should be able impose your will at least some of the time.

In the scenario:

Against FBS
22 drives
18 1st downs
3 TDs
1 FG
24 pts
1 end of regulation
14 punts
12 of which are 3 and outs
3 turnovers

In 6 losses
17 drives
10 1st downs
1 TD
1 FG
10 pts
12 punts
10 of which are 3 and outs
3 turnovers

The perception of KU football with coaches

Today I have talked to five or six coaches most of the P4 level.

It is intriguing to hear some of these guys talk who most all have had to study KU on film the last few weeks or have watched them on TV.

One coach whose team already played KU told me they were watching some recent film and said, "I'm glad we already played them."

Another coach who doesn't play KU but was watching their film said, "Their offense is a bitch to prepare for. Looks like number six is warming up."

I know the season has been a disappointment so far, but I think they are a lot better football team than it looks on paper especially to those who are in the coaching industry. They are definitely a different team over the last few weeks with the offense starting to produce more yards and points.
