Eliminating Bad Football

In fall camp coach K made a comment to the tune of "we are focused on eliminating bad football, because bad football loses games far before good football wins them".

Man, was that true tonight.

We won the turnover battle 0-4. We had 4 penalties for 30 yards, to their 10 for 97. We only gave up 1 sack, we sacked them twice.

We had one moment of very bad football (the punt) that, had we not done that, probably would have meant us winning in regulation. Still, we have done a great job of eliminating the mistakes in our control that take away our chances to win football games. During the toughest times of this year, it wasn't always easy to see the progress as we were getting stomped by several teams in the conference, but those things were coming along, and eventually the culmination of doing a bunch of little things the right way all the time is that you start to turn the corner and have a shot to win games.

Such a great night for our kids, and hats off to the staff. They have done an excellent job developing these guys, and I can't wait to see where we are in a few years.

Why are you a KU football fan?

I asked this in the game day thread, but am curious to hear from some of y’all.

For me, I’ve been a Kansas fan my entire life and was fortunate to go to my “dream school”. My mom was the lone Jayhawk in an entire family of kStaters and we took pride in being the black sheep. Growing up in Texas football was always my favorite sport, naturally. I love watching KU basketball, who doesn’t, but football is unmatched and I long for the days we are competitive in football again.

Why do you choose to watch Kansas football on your Saturday’s?
