NIL - 12th Man Strategies

For those that know me, know how real and how serious I am about supporting our Jayhawks. I manage a credit union branch in Wichita, and have a background in Sport Management, collegiate athletics and professional sports.

At our weekly slant tailgates durning the season - the focus is for our Slant member to have a good time, eat well, catch up, and then enjoy the game…not in it to make money.

Same goes for this. Not in it to get rich - focus is our Kansas Athletes.

In November, 57 of us answered a poll on how much you would be willing to contribute yearly to directly impact the program and players. If all 57 contributors gave at their vote - 108,600 would be raised. Let’s get this to 250-500k!

My focus is to get these conversations started, to find out the benefits that you’d like to see and receive, that you’re currently not getting through WEF and normal fanship.

If you’re serious about impacting the lives of our players and families - send me a message and let’s have a conversation.

Looking to gain some insight on what level, those in love with KU football the most, would be willing to spend to directly impact Kansas players and program.

And in addition, what benefits are you looking for to be involved in NIL?

Recruiting Update Cassidy's Takeaways: Five-Star sophomore offered by KU at Tarkanian Classic

https://kansas.rivals.com/news/cassidy-s-takeaways-stars-shine-at-the-tarkanian-classic -- From @RobCassidy_Rivals

The recruiting process is just getting started for class-of-2024 guard Vyctorius Miller, but the five-star guard certainly doesn’t lack exposure. On Friday, he led his Hollywood (Calif.) Crean Lutheran team to a narrow victory and looked like a top-flight offensive player in the process, knocking down a handful of key outside jumpers while routinely taking his man off the dribble and finishing at the rack.

He’ll need to become a much more engaged defender and rebounder in the coming years, but it’s easy to see why the sophomore already holds a number of major offers. Following the game, Miller discussed his recent offer from Kansas, an opportunity he admits intrigues him.

“That’s a good program. Kansas is a blueblood and you can’t say too much else. They are just telling me to keep getting stronger and never be satisfied.
Syracuse and UCLA and are also involved with Miller, who will likely see a number of other major offers pour in during the year ahead.

Recap of LL signing day message!

I listened to LL message on signing day, and his answers a couple of times now, and come away more impressed every time I listen to him. I know JK keeps mentioning how organized this recruiting staff has been to date. I think the same thing can be said about his entire staff. I hated to see Jones go but I hated to see coach Mitchell and coach Wyatt go as well. I think LL knows what he needs with the coaching staff and now he has most of his guys. He has guys for the most part that have been with him for a long time and know what they are doing. I am sure we will have another batch of kids that leave after Spring football. However once the smoke clears I bet the roster top to bottom gets a lot better by Summer. Excited to see what LL and staff can do after they have these kids for more than a year. Jayhawks are coming.

Scott Aligo

The Athletic ranked the top personnel in the country and KU's was ranked #7.

T-7. Scott Aligo, director of scouting, Kansas

Total survey points: 5
Started at Kansas: 2021

Aligo was named the director of scouting at Kansas (his alma mater) in June by first-year coach Lance Leipold. Aligo was an attractive candidate after his work in the transfer portal for Michigan State. The portal will be a major part of every school’s roster construction moving forward, and though Aligo is still relatively new to the personnel game, he already has a pretty impressive notch on his resume.

Off Topic Emotional Roller Coaster of a Novice sports bettor

I only bet on sports when I'm in Vegas (an exception was made for the Over on KU wins this year, using Bovada). And, as such, I typically only bet on the stuff I shouldn't (i.e., teams I'm emotionally invested in. . .Royals, Chiefs, Jayhawks). I've never messed with totals bets or championships as I didn't want to deal with collecting. But this year they had the MGM app and I could bet there and, in theory, collect from home.

So this is how my Chiefs season has gone. . .

Summer: I'm at the end of the trip, I haven't lost the amount I allowed myself to gamble. I had previously heard the total for the Chiefs was 12, giving odds, but saw that it had moved to 12.5 getting odds. I'm thinking, man, how "lucky" am I. . .. I can bet Over 12.5 and Get odds. The Chiefs will be favored in every game (or at most dogs in 1 or 2). . .this is easy money!

Season starts: Geez, better pick it up. But this bad luck can't last.

Get our 4th loss: Yeah, so remember that next time, dumbass, when you think a bet is easy money.

Start on a winning streak: This is nice, but no way we can win out.

Get deeper on the winning streak: Still nice, but wish I was on the over 12 instead of 12.5 so I could have a potential push if we only drop one more.

Smack the Raiders: Man, the defense has really come around. Bounces are going our way. Offense is looking better. This might happen!

COVID hits: Sneed OUT. Gay OUT. Jones: ???? COVID. F Me.

Hopefully I can add to the emotions after Thursday night with a miraculous win and get back on the roller coaster.

I don't know how hard core gamblers do it.
