Bobby Pettiford has Season-Ending Surgery

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas men’s basketball head coach Bill Self announced that freshman guard Bobby Pettiford underwent season-ending surgery Thursday.

“Bobby had successful surgery to repair a core muscle in his pelvic area that has hampered him since this past fall,” Self said. “In these last couple of weeks, it’s become apparent it was best to go ahead and have the surgery now. Bobby should return to basketball activities in four to six weeks.”

Pettiford played in 14 games in 2021-22, including six Big 12 contests. The Durham, North Carolina, point guard averaged 8.0 minutes, 1.4 points and 0.9 assists per contest.

Best assistants of recent memory

To contrast the bad assistant thread that has seemed to spark conversation, curious to your opinions on best assistants. I will start with mine that I have observed in no particular order.

Emmett Jones
Uzo-dribe probably botched his name
Zebrowski
Didn’t think eckler was awful
Eargle
Peterson

Genuinely think there were good coaches on the Beaty staff but felt like they weren’t allowed to actually do their job and were being micromanaged. Also take into account I am very biased to the miles staff as I got along great with coach miles and a lot of the staff. Ed Jones in player development was also a VERY underrated staff member at that time is now at Baylor as he dealt with kids during the Covid year where mental health was at an all time low.
