Wide Receivers

Haven't heard much talk about this group who i think has maybe been a bigger let down than any other group on the field this year.

Example.....how many times last night was JD6 able to sit in the pocket.......1 Mississippi, 2 mississippi.....3......you get my point. CONSTANTLY.

The OL was eating the KSU rush alive.

And almost never was there a WR running free. They were almost always blanketed.

Grimm is the best of the bunch. Arnold and Skinner just aren't really all that good. They don't run good routes. They don't consistently catch well.

But the biggest issue with all of them is they're slow slow slow. To the point that Wilson has been more of a dependable pass catcher for several weeks now.

Leipold needs to go find some damn speed. Everywhere. But especially at WR.

Toured The Stadium Today

Place is amazing.

- visiting team will run out from same tunnel
- chair backs in 100 percent of seats
- west side sold out and north premium only left (10k annual level now picking!)
- Lance has a fireplace
- party pavilion will be added above KUFB offices
- view from Jayhawk club seems cramped
- don’t get drunk and roll off the edge in upper deck
- scoreboard is MASSIVE
- suites likely added to east side which will make second phase more complicated (but still soon)

Game Thread Official Game Thread: KU vs KSU

This happens to him virtually every year. I believe his best year since leaving Wisconsin Whitewater was last year with the help of Snyder. We paid Snyder 100k.

Why will he not prioritize this? Our punt coverage is terrible. Conversely, we virtually never return punts.

Adequate punt coverage may have allowed us to win the past two games. Special Teams matter.

Taiwo holding the Coordinator title while helping him by committee isn't working.

Defense

Wasn’t perfect but gotta be pleased with how they played. Only one TD in 2nd half and absolutely kept us in the game. Borland actually had some nice blitz calls from the clouds. If you told me kstate would be under 30 I would assume we won. At some point we will prioritize special teams against these guys but maybe in a couple decades.

The Middle 8 is Important

Teams that win the Middle 8 (last 4 minutes of the second half, first 4 minutes of the second half) win 75% of the time.

Last 5 games? 0-5 and outscored 38-13 in the Middle 8. And usually via turnovers, special teams blunders, and clock management problems.

The game management has always been an issue under Lance and another example of it not getting better.

LL is our coach

For everyone who is saying fire LL, who exactly would we hire? Who would want to come here? It will likely be some assistant coach with no head coaching experience and a risky hire.
LL needs better players. He needs to do better with the transfer portal. We need a s**load of NIL money.
Look at Indiana which is not a powerhouse. Their starting qb is a transfer. He was hurt and the backup qb came in (also a transfer). They are 8-0.
