Last week I was very critical of Hyman and our special teams play.
This week they performed much better. The punt team did well. Maybe the best they've looked all year. OU didn't go after anything but we covered very well and got a turnover. One guy in particular has impressed me and it has been several weeks going. Spencer has been fantastic. Getting down field in a hurry is nice but if you can't break down and make an open field tackle little is accomplished. Being the initial tackler on punt coverage might be the most difficult solo tackle to make in the game. Spencer has done a great job beating his blockers, getting down field in a hurry, putting himself in position and then gathering himself to make a difficult tackle.
We also did a nice job putting pressure on place kicking. We got a hand on one extra point and force their kicker to hit the upright twice.
