Who were some guys that we landed or didn't land who ended up exactly like you thought they would or you were completely off on?
MISSES
Still to this day the the two i was off the most on were Ian Wolfe and Darius Parish. I swore Wolfe was going to be an NFL caliber tackle and he just never made it. I thought Parish had that type of talent at DT, especially after his freshman year, but he also didn't make it. I will go ahead and add D'Marcus Lang, even though he never made it, as I thought he was going to be the real deal also.
On the other end of the spectrum, I didn't have many expectations for Huldon Tharp. I would have never thought he would have played as well as he did his freshman year, especially coming off an injury. His career didn't end liked we had hoped it would, but he was a guy I wasn't expect to be an immediate contributor but was.
For some guys we didn't land, the three I thought were going to be big time players but didn't quite end of that way were Justin Isadore, Skyler Scott, and Marcus Trice (dammit I wanted Marcus Trice!). I think Trice ended up being OK at UNT, but I thought he was the second coming of Mark McMillan as Mighty Mouse.
I was also off on Jeremiaj George, who ended up at ISU and getting drafted. I thought he was a maxed out 5' 10" 205 lbs LB. Now he did get to 230 lbs, but he showed that instincts make up for size.
HITS
One guy I nailed was Jeff Spikes. He was a late addition "lowly" two star addition to a class, but was convinced he would start sooner than later. Thought he was way under-ranked and he ended up being a multi-year starter for us. I also was right on Todd Reesing. Now I didn't necessarily think he was going to be as good as he was, but I thought he was a real difference maker and would start a few years for us.
I was unfortunately right about Jason Hensley. He didn't even make it to the regular season, but he was a guy I wasn't happy about taking at all in the class we took him and didn't amount to much.
A guy that I wanted KU to pursue who has ended up OK (not great, but solid) is Jonathan Yenga at SMU. He has started nearly 20 games his sophomore and junior years heading into his senior year this year. Was 4th on the team in tackles last year.
