LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas will be returning to the Lahaina Civic Center in Lahaina, Hawaii, for the 2023 Maui Jim Maui Invitational, the event released earlier this month. Due to COVID, the previous two Maui Invitationals were held in the U.S. mainland.
The 2023 field will be the 40th annual tournament, which will run Nov. 20-22. Kansas will be joined by Gonzaga, Marquette, Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA and Chaminade.
This will be the eighth time KU has played in the Maui Invitational and the Jayhawks have won their last two trips to the event in 2015 and 2019. KU also won the 1996 title.
Kansas is 18-6 all-time in the Maui Invitational and has reached the championship game four times, coming away with three titles. In 2019, KU defeated Dayton, 90-84 in overtime, in an epic instant classic.
