Only at the University of Kansas. . .

Would the fan base be up in arms about losing an assistant coach from a program that until this season, has shown little to no improvement in the better part of a decade. The collective hand wringing over losing a WR coach is ridiculous. Coaching staffs change with new hires. I’m all for Lance getting the opportunity to complete his staff the way he wants and not with a bunch of Miles leftovers. We are in a new day with player transfers, but that works both ways. I am of the belief that the future of this program is not going to lie with recruiting Tx high schoolers and as such, Jones‘ role will be less important.

Off Topic MONKEN TALK

So when Paul Johnson retired, should Ga Tech just have hired Monken? (I don't recall that that was even really a consideration for them). I think everyone expected a transition period with change in style of offense, but Geoff (Jeff) Collins has won three games every year, is 9-25 and 7-18 overall in a not overly dominant P5 conference. They had two elite opponents at end of season (Georgia and ND), but I don't think combined 90-0 overall drubbing is very optimistic way to go out for fanbase. Collins just did the "push button in case of emergency" firing of a chunk of his staff.

At the time, I remember thinking "Oh, they'll just probably hire Monken". I don't know if he would have worked at Kansas, but seems like Ga Tech and him would have been perfect fit.

Bob Dole has died.

I knew it was coming. Cancer got him. You don’t have to agree with his politics to know he was a great leader who dearly loved his country. He will be missed. I will miss him.

He shaped tax policy, foreign policy, farm and nutrition programs, social security finances and rights for the disabled.

Dole devoted his life to the cause of wounded veterans, their fallen brothers at Arlington National Cemetery and memorials to the generation of World War II vets.

Continuity in our staff......

Will lead to future success.

Moving forward I believe the majority of this staff will stay together in coming years. Whatelse could lead to greater success?

Good recruiters don't always make good coaches.

We recruited corners and recievers faster than any other position. Seems like recievers have been adequate to good except when attempting wide receiver screens. Corners don't look for the ball on deep passes and they don't come flying up to make tackles like a Baylor or Okie State.

The other position coach we lost was on the defensive line. We really had alot of experience here compared to rest of squad. There's no question they underperformed.

Appreciated and liked all 3 coaches but totally know LL is on top of this. he let 2 go and went all in for the other but came up short.
