Returning Production

Here's the snaps per position group so far of the guys who have eligibility after this year.
I'm not including the snaps against Lindenwood.
I'm including Logan Brown to come back because he should get a medical.
I'm assuming Wheeler and Bumgardner will not return.

Puni

A tidbit from CBS sports. They have an article that is a rundown of how rookie QBs performed in yesterday's and today's preseason games. Normal stuff. But then suddenly they dropped this:

"Other notable rookie performances

49ers third-round selection Dominick Puni got the start at right guard. He looked totally in control and played with excellent balance. As San Francisco looks to identify its starting offensive line unit, Puni, a former left tackle at Kansas, has made a strong case for inclusion."

Ever more evidence that Puni is going to continue to make Jayhawks proud with his NFL career.

And an Austin Booker bonus!: "Rookies accounted for eight sacks in the preseason thus far; Austin Booker of the Bears is responsible for 2.5 sacks." Go get 'em Austin!

Margin for Error

Kirby said that repeatedly as the season started and has proven so true.

Looking at scores as they drop each week from common opponents it’s easy to see how that having 2-4 Fck ups a game (and some questionable staff decisions) - is more than we have room for to get victories in the Big 12 rn. We’ve likely been in more of the games start to finish than any team, or at least as many as the teams at the top standing wise.

I will admit I thought we had more talent than that volume of mistakes to still lose, but it’s proven pretty damn accurate.

Hope the squad is recovering and can put some Ws together down the stretch.

Off Topic Are HS games required to have ambulances on site?

Was on my way into the BV-BVNW game last night when I heard a kid screaming all the way in the parking lot.

Ran into Steve Rampy near the entrance who said it was a compound fracture. He and I talked for a bit and it easily took ~20 minutes for EMS to get there. Coach Rampy was saying back when he coached BV they were required to have an ambulance on site for situations like that, which I always assumed was a rule - were we both wrong or has that rule changed?

Ashton Jeanty

I just read that KU and Cal were the 2 P5 offers Jeanty had out of HS. I don’t remember seeing anything about him on the board so I’m guessing we didn’t really recruit him despite offering him. @JK do you remember much about his recruitment?

I am old (not as old as @BringBackMangino ) so perhaps I have forgotten. I ran a search on this board and didn’t see much.

Play Clock During Substitutions

I never noticed the play clock runs during substitutions until or game against ASU. One play when we were offense the ref is standing by the ball so the defense can substitute. We ended up having to burn a time out or getting a delay of game penalty because there was only a couple of seconds left on the play clock when we were allowed to snap. I feel like the play clock should stop at 10 during defensive substitutions so teams can't force their opponent to burn timeouts.
