Why Not Recruit Nebraska?

Up here in Nebraska I have been reading on how K-State, North Dakota State and Wyoming have had success recruiting in Nebraska as the Cornhuskers ignore home state players. I know KU considers Texas the mecca for players, but wonder why they don't look northward for some hidden jewels.
