Some questions that come to mind:
In football 🏈 terms, how do you define accountability for yourself, coaches, staff and players? Is everyone in the program truly being held accountable?
Going back to the Oklahoma State and Kansas State games last year, the massive number of penalties in the bowl game, and the three game losing streak this season, KU football seemingly is making a habit of beating itself. Why is this the case? Is it a lack of strength and conditioning? Are players being stress tested enough at practice? Is this coaching staff and team simply mentally soft?
You’ve had an incredibly successful head coaching career. Considering the blown leads late last year and having a talented team enduring a current three game losing streak, is this the most adversity you’ve faced as a coach? Have you talked with anyone else about how to handle a situation like this?
I ask these questions because KUAD is spending tens of millions of dollars 💵 on football, but more importantly because there are lessons from football 🏈 that can be applied off the field too. Leaders overcoming adversity are a great inspiration to others.
