Hey all…anyone with experience with this sort of tumor in your pup? Just got back from the vet. Found a small bump in his abdomen and did a needle biopsy and was told it was a mast cell tumor. Sending an estimate for surgical removal and go from there they say.

The vet was somewhat vague on exactly what this means in terms of prognosis. From the dreaded Dr. Google, I see anything from will be fine if localized or bad news depending on all sorts of criteria and or spread. Ben has been acting fine, eating great, no vomiting, diarrhea, not lethargic so I’m hoping that could be a sign of it being local.

Guess my question is, anyone dealt with this and your pooch was fine? My guy is a fine gentleman even though his pup years were a challenge with him being a total rascal. Been a great buddy and for my only child, a companion that has been pretty valuable. Thanks for any input! Don’t hold back with any outcomes you may have experienced, just want to know what we are looking at here.
