Why should we ever be in this position and how does the any pol dfend it? When they settle things today or tomorrow they will then take a bow. Instead they should be embarrassed. This whole shutdown/debt ceiling argument is insanity. These fools are 1`7 trillion in debt, have no budget, and want an increase to the debt without any strings. Then the handful of people who don't want this scenerio get villified. If there was no raise in the debt ceiling there porbably would be a downturn in the stock market and some inconvienience until the government prioritized spending, cut the amount of non essential employees etc, but then we would come back stronger than ever. Now e kick the can down the road, the government continues to raise our indebtedness, and we go through this again after the holiday. I thinkk our only hope is to have no one buy anymore of our debt.
