1. How will Z and Lubick perform as OC/Co-OC? No Devin Neal to hand the ball off to. All new WR corps. They have their work cut out for them.
2. Can the offense make up for losing Devin Neal? Statistically, he is the best to ever wear the crimson and blue, and he covered up a lot of warts. I’m expecting a big drop-off in ground production. How big though? Can the Iowa RB, Hishaw, and the youngsters minimize that?
3. What can we expect from JD? Happy he’s back. I think there were a lot of reasons for the disastrous start to 2024, not all on him. No more excuses now. The offense will be on his shoulders. Can he step up?
4. How good will our OL be? We lost some studs. Cabledue was a yeoman. L Brown is an NFL player. Both anchors at the tackle position. Can CC make the next step? Can the other guys who’ve been marinating in the program be impact players?
5. What will the defense look like under DK? It has to be better, which is a tall order given we’re losing two very good corners. But considering how much we’re losing from the O, I think the D will have to get a few more stops. And be more reliable closing out games.
