Joe Kennedy III is primarying Ed Markey from the right for his Senate seat. JKIII was considered a lock in 2019 but a poll had them close and a recent one has Markey up double digits. Daddy and twin brother are funding a Super PAC slandering Markey.
Joe figures he can primary a 74 year old white man now because he won't unseat Warren in 2024 and good luck beating Ayanna Pressley or even the AG now (a woman) in 2026.
In MA-01 Alex Morse (Justice Democrat) is primarying Richard Neal and has pulled very close in polling. The state Dems in MA have smeared Morse and attempted a "Me Too" hit that was baseless (no different than Pete Buttigieg and his now husband - absolutely zero scandal) because Neal heads the Ways and Means Committee and it would be a huge blow to the establishment.
Oh, and Pelosi just endorsed Kennedy, going against her hard line stance that no sitting Dems should ever be primaried, ever. So much so the DCCC has a blacklist for vendors and staffers that enable the primary of sitting Dems. But only when it's convenient, apparently.
September 1st could be a very big night for progressives. Or a blow if Markey loses. He's for M4A and co-authored the GND.
