There are more governors who have worn black face than there are black governors. While this is not necessarily a metric for racism in America, it does show why there is a perception by African Americans of institutional and direct racism in America. Blackface, while not historical seen as racist, is clearly racist by today's standards. For there to be more governors who have been shown to wear blackface than black governors is pretty staggering and shows we have a long ways to go.
