To exceed expectations who would it be and why?
I'll go first.
Zeke Mayo would be the guy who I would pick because a playmaking guard who can create his own shot has been the biggest key to every Championship run for a long time now in my opinion. Storr has the ability to get his own as well but Mayo is a guy who can also facilitate the offense some allowing Dejuan to play to his strengths with additional ball handling help.
We have seen a good example of how this can impact us when it matters most by observing the clear importance of Remy Martin in 2022.
I think Mayo will need some time to adjust and you just don't know how quickly or how well the transition will be made but his skills tend to transfer well. So as long as he learns how to assert himself within the flow of the offense and can be a decent defender then this is the key for me this season, just like it was with Remy a couple years ago. I truly think all of us should hope that Zeke is our starting 2 guard before the end of the season.
