After Kansas lost to Syracuse in the National Championship game, I remember Coach Williams saying "he didn't give a shit about North Carolina" and then bolting a few days later. What do you guys/gals remember about that day? Growing up, Roy Williams was really all I knew, and I wasn't sure, at the time, if anybody could fill his shoes. The run Coach Williams had at Kansas, without question, was simply amazing.
I could be wrong, but I don't recall another coaching move that was as big as Coach Williams leaving for UNC until Calipari potentially leaving for Arkansas. I mean, I never saw it coming. I still can't believe it, assuming it happens.
