I don’t know we will get the full 7 ppg improvement we saw last year. But I really don’t think our defense was as horrendous LY as the numbers would bear out. KU D had some solid moments against both TCU and Kstate. Depth wore down in games and over full season.
I think the D takes a step with another year of spring ball, weight room, and emphasis on physicality. I got us allowing around 31 a game and improving by end of year to a middle of the pack big 12 d.
Can this unit match KU’s 2018 defense? They weren’t world beaters but were no pushover. I think that’s a fair goal. Questions along the line of scrimmage this year, but I’d line our LB’s and DB’s up against 2018. Put the 2022 offense with the 2018 defense and Snyder coached special teams and you’re talking about an 8 win team. No sweat.
