I think this something that will be worth keeping a close eye on.
With what they are doing and showed in the spring it looks like they have abandoned the true TE spot. Right now I think the TE position will basically be a bigger WR type spot. At least that's the way it looks.
They knew Taylor was gone and they didn't sign a TE in last year's class. They haven't gone after many TE in this year's class. The most recent one was an offer by DeForest to Bosselli in Florida and he's a 6-4, 215 TE.
I think things are trending to using the TE as strictly flexed off the line as a full-time WR.
There were times last year that McCauley was used as a TE but that was in max protect line-ups.
Right now I just don't think KU will take any TE recruits that are the traditional TE position. You can tell a lot where the TE go to meet. Some schemes they go with the OL. Some they are in their own room. And others they group with the WR.
