Multiple times there have been references to moving to Pprtal targets once we move into the next dead period. It sounds like teams simply will not be targeting HS kids when we move into the fall.

I understand that kids are committing much earlier in the process with the new rules and many teams intend to fill up their high school class before the season starts. But, with our current number at 11, with the hope of seeing 18 in our HS class, it would seem we have room to look at more high school kids.

Do we simply expect there to be no good HS recruits left with all the early commitments to other teams? Will there be better young talent in the portal in this new portal era?

I always felt like we could get a couple of good high school kids late in the game, kids that slipped through the cracks, missed junior season due to injury, athletes forced to play a different position in high school, late bloomers, kids that changed schools, etc.

Do other factors exist beyond a belief that there are no good targets remaining? Or, possibly we don't have established relationships and are late to the game with those kids still available?
