Hey all,

On Sunday afternoon, a couple media types were invited to Lawrence, Kan., to spend a little time with SMU guard Nic Moore. I've got a great video coming, but wanted to provide you with a breakdown of the interview in this thread.

*** First, Nic said it's an honor to play in the World University Games. He talked about the tradition of the Kansas program and talked about the job Coach Bill Self has done during his tenure.

*** Nic said he was approached by Coach Larry Brown about playing in the World University games. Coach Brown told Nic that he's got an opportunity to play with KU and represent the United States. According to Moore, to hear this from Coach Brown and for KU to accept him, he said it was an honor.

*** Moore added that he had a big smile on his face and doing what he loves to do with a great group of guys is going to be fun.

*** Moore told me that he feels loved here, but added that he's a Mustang at heart. Having been in town for less than two days, he's still getting used to the things that guys do, but Moore made it clear that everybody has made him feel welcome.

*** When asked what he brings to the table, Moore said he wants to bring hard work and leadership to the table. He wants to get along with the guys, see how they play and be able to have fun with them.

*** Moore made it clear that he's aware that he's new to the team, but indicated that he wants to be a leader on the floor. He wants to talk to his teammates and wants to do whatever it takes to help this team be successful in Korea.

*** Moore, when asked about Coach Self, said he's another image of Coach Brown and Coach (Tim) Jankovich. He said that he likes the way Self coaches and what he say is like second nature to Moore, because he hears it from Coach Brown and Coach Jankovich.

*** Moore added that when he sees Coach Self, he sees Coach Brown and Coach Jankovich.

*** Coming out of high school, Moore said that a lot of mid-major schools recruited him, and he's heard that his height is the one thing that held him back (heard that his whole life), but he said obviously that's not the case.

*** Once he left Illinois State, he wanted to get back with Coach Jankovich. Moore said to be able to follow Coach Jank and to be able to play for Coach Brown is pretty cool.

*** Nic said, whoever is open will get the ball. That's how he plays the game. He said he wants to win every game -- doesn't matter if its playing for the United States, SMU or even pick-up ball -- if he's playing a game, there's no doubt Moore wants to come out on top.

*** Moore said he wants to play hard and show the guys that he's here for them, be a point guard and be a leader for his teammates.

*** Had Nic not been added to the World University games roster, he said he'd be in the gym and he'd also have summer school classes to take, so he said that this is a great opportunity to get away from his regular schedule.

*** Moore said that he's definitely going to be a leader and added that he wouldn't be here if he was shy. Its clear that Nic Moore wants to help this team be successful in Korea.
