No better man, player, face, athlete, human, Kansan to represent what it took raise KU football from the grave than Devin Neal. I think the university should honor the people it took to get the new stadium built.
No reason to wait. Put up a statue day 1 of Devin Neal. Not of him running the ball. Not him stretching his arm out for first down on what seemed like every carry. Not him flexing like he did on his record setting amount of touchdowns. Make it of him standing up and admiring the stadium that he built without ever getting to step foot in it as a player. How appropriate. Nothing was about him, when everything could have been.
On the base you can honor the Senior Class with their names. Not sure if possible, but put it somewhere that you could see the statue from inside the stadium as well. If there’s some area that’s see through.
