**I know that emotions can overtake our minds. But I believe that we can have a healthy discussion without getting offensive and ugly about 17 year old young men, who are trying to make, what could become, their first big life decision. I'm creating this thread, because it involves two recruits with a direct relationship with KU. Please be cordial with your comments.

Reading through some Rivals articles and I came across the Texas Tech Rivals article about Grant Polley visiting them. It was an interesting read. The first thing that caught my eye was the following sentence.
“Overall, that was probably the best, most well-rounded visit I’ve been on so far. It had everything you could have asked for.”
I had to read the rest after seeing those words. In a way, it does give us a small glimpse of how the minds of these young people piece things together. There are those who make quick choices, and I'm not going to be upset with them; I think back to some other people around me at the age. We all made some interesting decisions. But to get back on track, what felt like a common theme of the article was that the physical aspects of Tech, the dorms, were what caught his attention. Many of us can talk about how we are in the process of creating brand spanking new dorms/apartments on campus for the athletes to be in. It shows that physical appearances will always have an impact on the minds of this young generation of people. It is nice to know that changes are being made to appeal to the minds of those people with the new dorms and updated Anderson Complex.

But, on a greater scale, I have give a :clap::clap: and a :raised_hands: to all of the 2015, 2016, & 2017 KU commits. Between the recent on-field history and the current status of our football facilities, it is great to know that there are still young men who can believe in a vision that can only be imagined, at the moment. Yes, some of them had limited options, but there were some who had options and still chose KU football.

For some reason, I decided to scroll down the page after reading about Polley. I see that the Tech people also posted an article about Jared Hocker's unofficial visit.

I know it is not preferred, but he did go on the unofficial visit. It was comforting to know that, after reading the article, Hocker still sounds good with KU. We do not know what his future will become, but it is nice to know that he is taking these trips with his father, who sounds like a encouraging influence with his son. There are many young men who would greatly benefit with having that positive male role model in their lives. As much as I want Jared to stay committed and sign with KU, I find it nice to know that he is, at least, taking time to confirm and reconfirm whatever his final decision will be by taking as many visits as needed. With him graduating this December, he has a limited timeframe before he makes one of his biggest life decisions.

Hopefully, all things work out well for both of these young men. As much as we all want them to be here at KU, we can all at least, be nonconfrontational with them, in a negative way. As bad as the Bledsoe situation got, I do not want to see many more moments like that.
