Surprised no one had posted this. I don't love the SEC/B1G getting 4 slots each. They might get them anyway but I think they should have to earn them. Big 12 should get 2 spots at a minimum, but I didn't love the lack of consideration we got for a 2nd team this past year when we were ranked as high as the 2nd best conference and beat one of the at-large teams head to head on teh road. To me, it feels like things are moving a little too fast to lock things in for the B1G/SEC. If I were the Big 12, I'd try to do what I could to slow play this thing and assuming we're sticking with 9 league games as a league, I think I'd be pushing hard that 9 league games are a minimum or you'd get penalized for CFP at large consideration without scheduling other P4 games or ND. It's just a massive advantage for the SEC to only schedule 8 league games plus their teams always start high in the polls, which is an advantage. I think if we can increase the number of real games they play (and more league games), they'll beat each other up because league play is guaranteed losses for your teams. If we can slow play guaranteeing them 4 spots - especially with the impact that the transfer portal has had in creating parity - I think we can see the narrative begin to shift especially the way the CFP went this eyar. And if the SEC/B1G is going to play each other, I'd pair up with the ACC if I were the Big 12 and do a challenge, plus get ND to play (and then not play the bottom 2 ACC teams). The more P4 games the better and I think we'd beat up on the ACC overall.
