Quick Take: Jack Tanner was one of the first offensive linemen that Daryl Agpalsa offered. Tanner took his first official visit to Kansas, where he has several family members who attended school at KU.

Tanner was impressed with the visit to Kansas, and he said everything from the NIL meetings to the strength staff stood out to him. He told me the facilities at KU are some of the best he has seen.

He also visited Kansas State and Northwestern.

On the visit Calvin Clements hosted him and the two connected. He said the players were a close-knit group.

Tanner told me he liked how Agpalsa has developed OL and sent over 40 players to the NFL.

Breakdown: First off give me any player who is a 4X3 you can get from the portal.

Tanner ended up with over 400 snaps as a true freshman and won the starting job at tackle. Agpalsa liked his footwork and technique for a freshman.

Tanner told me he also said he liked his “football IQ.”

At 6-foot-6, 295 he has the tackle body, and I think Tanner will develop into a player on the offensive line.

In high school he was a three-year starter for Marcus and a two-time all-district selection.

Chris Harmon, who covers the Tulsa program

"Jack was pressed into action due to injuries.," Harmon said. "He made the usual freshman mistakes but started to really come on strong in the last several games. He has good feet and a high football IQ."

What this means: This is a big get because Tanner was one of the first OL Agpalsa offered and set for a visit.

And the fact he has past ties to KU made this an important piece in my opinion. This was one of those players they needed to get.

I still think they would go after two more OL after getting Hughes and Tanner.
