Great player without question. Really good ambassador for all of basketball, you betcha! but....
He is horrid as an announcer. He often tells stories that have nothing to do with the game he is watching. He often says things going on in the game that are not accurate (example: He stated late in the 2nd half that KU had not attempted a 3 point shot, when actually KU had attempted 3 shots from 3 and one of the attempts was right before the inaccurate comment). He says these off the wall things that his co-announcers just have no idea what he is saying or where he is going with the comment. Often you see the co-announcers faces look dumbfounded and have to pivot the conversation in a different direction because they have no idea how to respond to Walton's bizarre comments.
I would much rather have a Dickie V calling the game over Bill Walton.
