No chance in hell Warren was actually up on Bernie by 20 freakin point in CA at any point in time. I buy the trend but that's just, that never was or barring anything surprising, never will be the case.

Posting these numbers does not make it feasible. You are dreaming if you think you can of all that and not break us economicaly. These numbers don't compute and they say nothing about the coverage.

It's not just the chart. I've broken down a detailed post that includes the 7 pages of proposed funding.

Time and time again you say its crazy and it wont work but you don't know anything about it.

Just say you don't like it and move on.

You know nothing of this plan, except that wealthy people are scared and that your party gave you marching orders to blindly defend the status quo.

They're scared and worried, rightfully so, about all the racist tropes the GOP has about them. They're voting. Not just in CA, but in TX.

I would like Bernie and Warren to publish an income chart that shows the % tax increase to fund their entire campaign platform.
    Free healthcare
    Free college
    Free parental leave
    Free college loan forgiveness
    Free preschool
    Free daycare
Am I missing any other free services?

I’m assuming a 20-30% increase in federal taxes to even have a chance to pay for this. It would be interesting to know the cumulative tax hike to pay for their platforms. With that information the voting public can make a determination if it’s worth it.

Germany has a 14% payroll tax alone to pay for its single payer healthcare. That is on top of a 19% VAT tax on most goods you purchase. Scandinavia is always mentioned as a model. They have a 25% VAT minimum and very high income tax levels that applies to a high % of the population. Whereas the US has a low income tax level for the majority of the population and higher % tax for the extreme wealthy.

Nick, is there a site out there that has this information that you’re aware of?

Don't forget, beside all the free stuff (Nick will say investment), don't forget the cost of the green new deal

If everything is free, they control everything and you become dependent on them.

And his proposal to guarantee all Americans a full-time government job paying $15 an hour, with full benefits, is estimated to cost $30.1 trillion. I think the current running total is 97.5 Trillion dollars.

Don't worry everyone, all this free stuff will pay for itself. It's an investment! We may not live to see that but it will pay for itself.

    We can trust the comrades.

He's got detailed plans for everything on how to pay for it. Regardless of all the memes that @jayhawkart will post, there are detailed, sensible plans that won't only just "pay for it" but invest into it with an expected ROI. It works everywhere else. It's just that everywhere else doesn't have a few families that control all of the wealth - yet there are many wealthy people still with more than enough money to last generations.

Every single person I know born outside the US, yes, even the conservative ones knows what is silly is the notion of people running around fighting these things.

"You mean to tell me you don't have automatic voter registration, you purposely close down polls, don't have paper ballots, enforce strict ID laws to prevent people from voting, don't provide education, healthcare, childcare, and you sitgmatize it by using the word "FREE" all the while letting just a few families control all the wealth and they laughably call that Socialism??"

    My response: Yes.

This is exactly what I was talking about. Foreigners everywhere, conservative, liberal, right, or left, they see this rhetoric, and we know this isn't sarcasm, this is real.

They look at this right there and they are laughing at all of us.

    Even the conservative ones.

    Reuters/Ipsos:

    Biden 19 (-3)
    Sanders 19 (+4)
    Warren 13 (+2)
    Buttigieg 6 (=)

This is a poll that Real Cherry Picker suddenly stopped adding to it's index a while ago because of numbers like this.

"BREAKING: Warren in 2nd place, Pete in a STRONG third place" - CNN, probably tonight.

Got no idea how fair and scientific primarytracker.org is, but it's been brought to my attention that Bernie moved up to #2 on it. EDIT: screenshot shows its from 538. So in other words, can't be trusted.

So, this Bloomberg fella. Whether he gets in the race or not he’s putting down $100 million right off the bat to attack Trump in swing states. I believe it will run in Arizona Michigan Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He’s doing a whole lot of other Democratic candidates a real solid.

Honestly, Bloomberg is at his best doing just this. Not taking up another spot in a crowded Dem race.

Thanks, I’ve been reading up on his proposal and see that his estimates of expected costs are half of what other studies are forecasting for Medicare for all. I still contend that he would never be able to pay for what he is proposing without massive tax increases on EVERYONE in the US, not just the .1%. European countries aren’t financing single payer healthcare solely on the backs of the wealthy. That’s not sustainable as there will always be a smarter tax attorney than politician and will shelter assets from this tax. Deep down Bernie probably knows his plan is BS but he cant be elected telling the truth that if you want free xyz your taxes are going to skyrocket, everyone’s taxes, not just the wealthy.

    Biden 30% (+4)
    Bernie 18% (+4)
    Warren 15% (=)

The real news isn't that Bernie is solid 2nd, he was from the very moment he launched his campaign. The real news isn't that Warren's surge has fizzled, it's been that way for a month.

Real news here is it seems that Biden is surging according to multiple polls - but not all of them - a couple have shown w/ and w/o Bloomberg making an impact, and Deval Patrick hasn't yet been factored into multiple - if any polls.

    Morning Consult:

    Biden 32,
    Sanders 20
    Warren 17 (-2)
    Buttigieg 8

Above are changes since last week. Warren slid -1 in last week's poll.

    Check out the second choices:

    Biden: 28% Bernie, 23% Warren, 11% Buttigieg
    Warren: 29% Bernie, 22% Biden, 16% Buttigieg
    Buttigieg: 25% Warren, 24% Biden, 9% Bernie
    Harris: 23% Warren, 20% Biden, 15% Bernie

Bernie is last choice for Pete and Harris which is expected. I've been saying since March or April that Bernie leads as second choice with Biden.

Biden's the default choice and they're limiting his appearances because he's a gaffe factory; the hope is he falls hard and fast like his previous campaigns because Bernie would benefit the most.

I did read his plan and it absolutely is being financed on attempting to tax the hell out of the wealthy. That is essentially his entire campaign pitch...

We must be in disagreement with the definition of 'solely' then.

He's proposed a tax on the middle class in addition taxing the wealthy. Income at $30k gets taxed. Hardly wealthy and guess how many people make that much compared to the top 0.1% he's proposed the wealth tax upon?

The payroll tax increase too. Every single person this country that has on a W-2 is funding this.

Elimination of tax deductions because the taxpayer won't be paying money on medical care thus nothing to deduct.

That's four right there. I can re-read the 7 page document again and see if there's anything else.

Warren wanted to avoid a negative connotation about tax on the middle class. She came up with a regressive unfeasible plan and she's sliding in the polls now.

Bernie showed that businesses and people will pay more taxes but still come out way ahead without the copays, premiums, deductibles, etc, it's really a tax cut overall. And businesses aren't spending so much time and money subsidizing health care plans and reviewing year round.

Campaign becomes faster ever to reach 4 million donations. Started taking them Feb 19th when campaign announced.

That is one donation every 6 seconds. In 2016 he didn't reach that milestone until after the NH primary.

Takes the latest 538 polls and aggregates them, but without Nate Silver and Harry Enten explaining away every single good thing for Bernie and every single bad thing for the rest of the field.

Unlike RCP, it includes all the polls for better or for worse. It's the straight dope.

The polls themselves can be questioned, their methodology can be questioned, but they're all included in there regardless of rank.

Bernie's in 2nd and closing in.

Seniors, regardless of party line, should look at this. And yes, it can be paid for, no, it's not "FREE SHIT" like the "FREE SHIT" you enjoy with your Medicare - oh, its so much better than that (and it's an investment)

There is no free "shit" in Medicare. Poor Bernie is just a bunch of sound bytes. His laundry list for healthcare is not doable as a government program. Not only in dollars but it would destroy the healthcare infrastructure that we have. We get the best healtcare in the world. True it could be better, but destroying it to gain a lessor program is inane.

We don't have the best healthcare in the world. We don't even have the best doctors in the world.

1.5 million Americans go abroad for medical tourism each year. Millions rely on 911 has the primary form of healthcare. Not so preventative now is it.
