Tomorrow the wife and I celebrate 9 years. We’ve always preferred a nice meal alone with some of our favorite foods. We’ve never really done anything elaborate. To be honest, we never had a honeymoon (took a trip to Florida two years ago that we called our honeymoon).
With 3 kids in grade school it’s just too difficult to get away. In fact, we’re doing lunch tomorrow vs a dinner alone, because we won’t be able to escape the crotch goblins’ schedules. I’m hoping to do something a little fancier next year outside of ‘just dinner’. She hates surprises, but that’s tough sh*t.
Are there any suggestions you guys/gals have? Do you do gifts every year? I know some folks do trips every 5 years or decade, but again, kids and school.
