That would give KU four guys who started at QB at times for their HS team but are playing a different position in college along with Joe Dineen, Darious Crawley, and Denzel Feaster. If they also land Maciah Long, that would give them five. I think the total may actually be seven as I believe Fish Smithson and Colin Spencer started some games at QB as well. Four of these guys (possibly six with Smithson and Spencer) project to the defensive side of the ball (and I still wonder if Crawley could play safety...).
How long has it been since KU has had that many former HS QBs on the team playing different positions in college?
I ask because one thing mentioned on here is liking the idea of going to the mold of TCU, who has had several guys on defense that played primarily offense or a different position in HS. I know it doesn't necessarily translate to success, but I like the idea of having a bunch of former QBs on defense. The athletecism is increasing on the defensive side of the ball, but I also think with these former QBs we see a defense that does a great job at reading and anticipating plays...
