I am fine with playing WSU and beat them so we can get this "KU won't play WSU" crowd to shut up.

But how on earth could the committee put WSU as a #7 seed?

WSU has been a top 15 team all season. Look at the other #7 seeds: VCU, Iowa, MSU. MSU is the highest ranked AP team of those 3 at #23 in the nation. WSU is ranked #14 in the nation.

UNI is also from the same conference and they split the regular season series with WSU winning the regular season conference and UNI winning the conference tournament. UNI is #5 seed and ranked #11 in the AP pole. If you want to punish WSU for losing to Illinois St. in their tourney, then put them as a #6 seed. But WSU should be a #5 seed and it is not close.

The other #5 seeds besides UNI are ranked #19, #20, and #21 and WSU is ranked #14.

KU has to be ready to play whoever is front of them, but with all the buzz of KU playing WSU, no one that I have heard is talking about the HUGE snub WSU got as a seed for a top 15 team all season. It looks like the committee might have dumped in with KU for fun.
