But the author of this article nails it on why rural America supported Trump. For Democrats it should be a wake up call. For Republicans, a call to reject the bitter and negative Trump mantra that is all sound and fury and little else. The author was a registered Independent turned Democrat in 2016. I was a registered Republican turned Independent in 2016. Both of us from Rural America with the same experiences listening to the many in our communities who voted for Trump twice. Fire away, folks.
