One overlooked plus of adding all of our transfers is that I think it helps validate a lot of these HS kids' decisions to commit to KU and stay committed.
HS kids are impressionable and selling a winless team isn't easy. Quiv, Roberts, King (when he was here), Evans, Charlot and Baldwin will help recruiting by not only beign able to explain that KU has comparable facilities and coaches etc. to some of the traditional powers, but when ESPN eventually picks up on the headline that 2 Bama kids are transferring to KU it will subconsciously give some of our more highly recruited kids some validation that they are going to a good up and coming football school.
Crist and Heaps may have never performed at a 5 star level at KU, but I definitely think their name power and the idea that they were capable of turning our program around helped land that Juco "Dream Team". Now our coaching sucked and the talent evaluation behind landing that class was shit, but we still beat out some teams to get those guys and I think our big name transfers helped with that a bit.
So even is Evans, Charlot and Baldwin don't become 1st Team Big 12 players, I think they will still help push our program forward and help with recruiting this year and next.
