Leipold said he got word some people were at Johnny's around 1:00 to get ready for Hawk Talk.

Logan Brown and OJ Burroughs are the guests on the show later.

Leipold said obviously they were disappointed with the UNLV game but he has been impressed with how the guys have practiced. Said they are doing good things on both sides of the ball but have to overcome adversity and have to correct some things.

The team isn't running away from the 1-2 start and they are excited to play this weekend.

Said they have tried to clean things up in practice and also said they can look back to six plays and realize that's how close they are to being 3-0. But that's the difference in college football each week is there a lot of teams that can say that.

Too many drives had a penalty or a turnover in those self-inflicted things they have to overcome.

Played pretty good defense in the second half UNLV only had 69 yards of offense. UNLV had negative 5 yards in the third quarter.

Tommy Dunn has played outstanding football. Caleb Taylor and Withers continue to play well.

Three straight 100 yd rushing games for Devin Neal. They told Neal he was going to have to shoulder the load with Hishaw out and he was ready for it. Neal is running aggressive and Lance told him there's no harm in running out of bounds instead of taking contact every now and then.

Look back at the West Virginia game they won in 2022 and it was a game that gave them a lot of confidence for the rest of the season.

Said Neal Brown does a good job with the vertical pass game and also has some good targets at tight end. The quarterback Greene can run and scramble and they have to do a good job of slowing that down. Said they have a good tandem of running backs.

He said West Virginia has one of the better offensive lines in the Big 12.

Offensively they have to be able to maintain drives and have balance. If they can do that you will see the confidence rise.

Said Jalon is the same guy every day when he walks in the building. He's working hard and not making excuses and has been coachable and encouraging his teammates. Leipold said he's confident in him.
