Updated 8:02 p.m.... I have confirmed this would be a situation similar to Nick Harwell. Gonzalez would go on scholarship and practice with the team but he would have to sit out a year. He would not count against the initials this year but would next year.

Updated 7:24 p.m.... Joey McGuire the head coach at Cedar Hill told me when he talked to Laquvionte Gonzalez he said "Go somewhere you feel comfortable and a place you can get a great degree. I'm very excited for him."
Gonzalez was a highly recruited player for McGuire at Cedar Hill.
"He has legit 4.5 speed and he's very explosive," McGuire said. "He high jumped 6-10 in high school."
McGuire just arrived back home after visiting Kansas this weekend.

He went to Cedar Hill and was recruited to Texas A&M by David Beaty. Joey McGuire who is close to Gonzalez is also close to Kenny Perry and David Beaty. McGuire was in Lawrence this weekend with several of his players to see the spring game.
