Spent a few minutes the other day reading about Tyler Matthews college career. The former 4 star, local recruit performed well enough during practices to be in a real battle with Boykin at TCU but never contributed anywhere.

He transferred to Southern Miss after being beat out by Boykin and wasn't able to supplant the returning 2 year starter. After graduating, Tyler transferred to NMSU only to quit football after the QB he was competing with for the starting job wasn't disciplined to his liking after an arrest.

Thought a few on this board might have insight regarding his decision making process along the way. Seems like he had the talent to contribute at many programs if he had made a different choice or caught a break along the way.

Also seems like he was quick to bail and would have contributed at TCU had he stuck it out.
