I have heard that several interviews were held last week to look at openings in scouting and recruiting.
There are two names that I am hearing to keep a close eye on.
One is Greg Svarczkopf, who is currently the director of recruiting at Army. The word I get is he is very organized and one of the most impressive young internal recruiting people in the industry. He has done a great job for Todd Monken.
"It would be a big loss for Army because he runs the entire recruiting department," one source said.
He was the on-campus recruiting director at New Mexico. Before that he was an on-field coach.
The other is Scott Aligo the Director of Player Personnel at Michigan State. Aligo is a KU grad and from Tonganoxie.
Before joining Michigan State he was at Oklahoma State and has also spent time in the NFL. People I have talked with say he is a very good evaluator of talent and if he ended up at KU that would be a big role he would handle.
He worked with the Chiefs for four years and the Cleveland Browns before joining Michigan State.
