Talked to somebody I trust in the Trump 2020 campaign camp recently. Was told the campaign is going to take his rough, tough guy persona and run with it. Something like this - Ads saying, in effect,”yeah we know he’s not very likable but what’s needed is four more years to tame the Washington beast”. Followed by something like this - “yeah we know you might not want him for a neighbor or social contact - tough guys are not likely to worry about that as long as the cleanup job gets done”. Confronting what is so unlikeable about him as a positive that is needed to fix D.C. BTW, my source and I understand where we both are here. We talk as adversaries here, not enemies. Also saw an article somewhere yesterday that the campaign is rolling out its first ad videos on this theme to test reactions. Thoughts??
