Last week against Texas I felt I didn't have a problem thinking how the game would play out. I had a clear picture in my head how it would go. I just pictured the wrong team winning. I was wrong.
But this week I just can't picture this game. TCU has been good and bad. And they have been both recently. If the TCU who played against KSU and OSU show up we have a game. If the TCU who beat Baylor shows up then it is trouble.
If the KU team who showed up against Texas plays, and the TCU team who beat Baylor then it is probably trouble.
I just don't understand TCU. Something wasn't right and maybe it is Patterson. One person told me the other day they think his style of constantly chewing our players and coaches finally ran its course. That style just wore everyone out.
But they have players. Athlon had them picked 4th in the preseason. The Big 12 media poll had them 5th.
Their defense gave up 24 pts a game last year and was expected to be better.
Their offensive style of spreading the field and getting one on one matchups worries me against the KU defense. I worry a lot about open field tackles.
The run defense has had their struggles. If KU can run it and keep TCU off balance and eat clock that is the ideal situation. TCU is also dealing with injuries at key spots.
I was on 810 this morning and they asked if I was surprised by the spread and I said I wasn't.
This thing can go a lot of ways in my head and I don't which way it will.
