I was watching UCF play against Tulsa and the Tulsa receiver was coming across the middle and attempted to catch a high ball. As he was getting ready to catch it, the UCF player attempted to make a form tackle at his waist and had already started to do it when the Tulsa player ducked down about three feet. Because of this, the UCF's players shoulder pads hit him in the head, when it would have been his midsection. They gave the guy a targeting penalty and then after review, they upheld the penalty and the guy was ejected.
What in the hell are you supposed to do?
I understand wanting to protect players, but when does common sense take place in all of this?
The guy was making a form tackle and gets ejected because the Tulsa player basically was going into the fetal position. Absolute BS.
I'm not a fan of either team, but just happened to see it when I was flipping through the channels.
It's just ridiculous that football has come to this.
