Congress is corrupt! The tax money that congress controls, plus the tremendous dollars and pressures from lobbyists have totally corrupted the house and the senate. No one party or segment of one party is to blame-they all share it. The fragilness of the economy that still exists is their fault and due to their stupidity and arrogance. There is just too much money involved in their entire lives from elections to the 3 trillion that flows into Washington every year. The first step needs to be clean up election funding, Then lobbying needs a total overhaul. Finally they all need to go to a civics 101 class where they get the message that they must work for all the people in their districts/states all the time. Congress protects itself as an institution via class warfare between the constituents of political parties. The common people point fingers at each other when the economic delemas we find ourselves in today lay at the doorstep of capitol hill. Right now all of us in the same sinking boat when it comes to the social and financial woes of this country. All the media gives us is one party blaming the other with the name calling. It doesn't take a really bright person to see we face very serious problems and no one or group in either party is even close to presenting viable solutions. Right now neither party is doing jack shit about anything-period.
