| Dear Jayhawks- Fall sports are in full swing, and our Jayhawks student-athletes are off to a great start. I write today to announce an exciting update to our Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) program at Kansas Athletics. Effective July 1, 2024, all donor-directed NIL support of KU student-athletes will receive giving credit from Kansas Athletics Development. In this time of unprecedented change in collegiate athletics, we are thrilled to provide donors credit toward their lifetime giving and priority points when they support our student-athletes through NIL. As you might imagine, this change comes with a renewed appeal for your support. We need your help to reach our ambitious goals of being a leader both in the Big 12 Conference and nationally. NIL has quickly become a critical component of the student-athlete experience. Just like the scholarship support we provide to our student-athletes, NIL resources provide a life-changing opportunity for our student-athletes. For us to compete at the highest level, NIL support must be a significant asset. To continue attracting and retaining the best student-athletes, we must ensure access to competitive NIL resources. This will require robust participation from all of our Jayhawk fans and supporters. Permitting donors to receive gift credit for NIL contributions acknowledges how critical these resources are, and rewards those who provide such support.
